Robert Lewis Calhoun, nicknamed "Tootsie" 70 years of age a recent resident of Travelers Rest, SC

He previously lived in Asheville and Hendersonville NC for 20 years.

Born in New York City on August 30, 1953, to Harold Calhoun Sr and the late Delores Calhoun

He is the oldest of six children, in which three are surviving, Dessa Calhoun, Harold Calhoun Jr and Derrick Calhoun.

Married to Pamela Austin Calhoun. He has one daughter, Sarah Nicole Calhoun along with 9 stepchildren, 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grands. Also hosts of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He has one surviving Aunt Shirley Lewis of Asheville, NC.

Robert attended school in New York and graduated from Julia Richmond High School.

He was a member of Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Travelers Rest; SC   He loved the Lord and his church family and spent a lot of his time there serving as much as he could.

Robert retired from Care Partners in Asheville and continued to work part-time at Halcyon in Polk County caring for the residents and delivering food for Meals on Wheels.

Tootsie was loved and will truly be missed by his family and all that knew him.

A funeral will not be held but his family and friends will honor him with a Balloon release on Saturday, November 4th at Mountain Grove Missionary Bapt. Church 99 McKinney Rd. Travelers Rest SC 29690.
