Johnny was born to the late Elizabeth "Lizzie" Poole Booker and John Henry Booker in Travelers Rest, SC.
Johnny was a High School Graduate of Travelers Rest and later began his career at Nutra in Greenville, SC where he met and was engaged to the late Sarah Austin Mansell in Fountain Inn, SC.
Johnny enjoyed spending time with his family and friends who he loved dearly. He enjoyed working puzzles, word search books, gardening, landscaping, riding his bike, playing spades with his friends, watching Mash and Gunsmoke.
He is survived by his daughter Amber (Brandon) Sims of Murfreesboro, TN, son Mark (Patricia) Byrd of Anderson, SC, and daughter Leslie Mansell of Simpsonville, SC. Sister Eva Mae (Arthur) Butler of Travelers Rest, SC; sister Patricia (Milford) Paden of College Park, GA; sister Ora Lee (Caswell) Fairweather of Travelers Rest, SC; sister Amy Booker (Michael) Whiteside of Travelers Rest, SC; brother Roy Lee (Miranda) Booker of Travelers Rest, SC. Lastly, loving friend Janie Debro of Greenville, SC. Mr. Johnny has 6 grandchildren (Bryson, Ivy, Jaden, Brandon, Megan and Sarah) of whom all loved him very much. Followed by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He would give you the shirt off his back, made you feel welcomed and would keep you laughing. He definitely will be missed. He loved to decorate his apartment and would show you what he did new every time. He'll always be known as "Unc, John Lee, Jose, Julio, and Cha" as Amy called him.
Private viewing will be held Thursday at 12pm for the family and services will began at 1pm with friends and family together. Following, the family will resume at Mr. Booker's home for the repast.
